So when the unrest broke out, instead of resolving the issue through mediation with the Kashmiris, they started shooting and killing people. We thought Kashmir would become part of Pakistan, and today, unfortunately, our part of Kashmir has become even worse than Indian-administered Kashmir. We have alienated the people so much that the word "Pakistan" has now vanished from their minds.
Two families holding power
They say, "We never thought we would be joining a Pakistan like this." So the point is that these are two families who hold power, and obviously, unfortunately, the military as an institution was dragged into this, because there are individuals within the military who are colluding with them. I never blame the entire military, because the military is a massive institution. So the individuals who become partners with these politicians, they simply end up doing the exact same things they do.
We thought Kashmir would become part of Pakistan, and today, unfortunately, our part of Kashmir has become even worse than Indian-administered Kashmir.
So the real issue is that the military, the military officers, must realize that what we are doing is not right, not just to the country, but in what has been done to the constitution. Now, promoting and elevating oneself like this, fixing one's own future tenures for five or ten years, this never happens in any democracy. To begin with, democracy has never truly existed in this country.
Possibility of public uprising
We merely use the name of democracy. There were never genuine elections, never democratic decisions, so where is the democracy? So that is the reality, now in this country, I said that if there is a public uprising, or if they come out onto the streets the way change has happened everywhere, like this new Gen Z—call them cockroaches if you will— cockroaches have emerged in India, so maybe we will see cockroaches here too.
تو جو گڑبڑ ہوئی ہے بجائے اس کے کہ کشمیریوں کے ساتھ مل کے ثالثی سے مسئلہ حل کیا جاتا گولیوں سے مارنا شروع کر دیا۔ ہم نے سوچا تھا کشمیر بنے گا پاکستان اور آج بدقسمتی سے جو ہمارا کشمیر ہے وہ انڈیا کے کشمیر سے بھی بدتر ہو گیا ہے۔ ہم نے لوگوں کو اتنا ناراض کر دیا ہے کہ ان کے ذہنوں سے پاکستان کا لفظ اب ختم ہو گیا ہے۔ وہ کہتے ہیں یہ پاکستان تو ہم نے کبھی نہیں سوچا تھا کہ ہم جوائن کریں گے۔
خاندانی حکمرانی اور فوج
تو مقصد یہ ہے کہ یہ دو فیملیز ہیں جن کی حکمرانیاں ہیں اور ظاہر ہے کہ اس میں فوج بدقسمتی سے انسٹیٹیوشن کو شامل کر دیا گیا کیونکہ فوج میں بھی افراد ہیں جو ان کے ساتھ ملے ہوتے ہیں۔ پوری فوج کو میں کبھی بھی نہیں کہتا کیونکہ فوج تو بہت بڑا ادارہ ہے۔ تو جو بندے ہو جاتے ہیں جو پارٹنرز بن جاتے ہیں ان سیاستدانوں کے تو وہ جو وہ کر رہے ہیں، جو وہ کر رہے ہیں، وہی وہ کر رہے ہیں۔
کبھی انتخاب نہیں ہوئے، کبھی جمہوری فیصلے نہیں ہوئے، تو جمہوریت کہاں ہے؟
تو اصل چیز یہ ہے کہ فوج کو، فوجی افسروں کو یہ احساس کر لینا چاہیے کہ ہم ٹھیک نہیں کر رہے۔ نہ ملک کے ساتھ بلکہ آئین کے ساتھ جو کچھ ہم نے کیا ہے۔ اب یہ اپنے آپ کو ایلیویٹ کر لینا، طرح طرح کے آئندہ کے پانچ پانچ، دس دس سال کی اپنی ٹینیور مقرر کرنا، یہ کبھی کسی جمہوریت میں نہیں ہے۔ اول تو جمہوریت کبھی ملک میں رہی ہی نہیں ہے۔
جمہوریت اور عوامی تحریک
جمہوریت کا تو نام ہم استعمال کرتے ہیں۔ کبھی انتخاب نہیں ہوئے، کبھی جمہوری فیصلے نہیں ہوئے، تو جمہوریت کہاں ہے؟ تو یہ تو چیز ہی ہے، اب اس ملک میں، میں نے کہا کہ عوامی لیول پہ اپرائزنگ اگر ہے یا وہ باہر آئیں گے جس طرح جہاں بھی چینج آئی ہے وہ Gen Z جو نئی، کاکروچز کہہ دیجیے، انڈیا میں کاکروچز آ گئے ہیں، تو ہو سکتا ہے ہمارے ہاں بھی کاکروچز
